I'm a winner!!

OHHHH, what a wonderful day it was!
I am a frequent user of http://www.tasteregina.com/. its one of my favorite websites when deciding where to go eat. I try and pass it along to all my friends. Anywho.. I am not one to enter contests but I was on the website and the question was soooo ridiculouly easy I entered. And low and behold about a month later I got an email saying I won a $100 gift certificate to Golf's! Who doesn't love free food? Well I know I do! Soon to come: a review of my free food from Golf's. Thanks tasteregina!!!!! you're awsome!

Zest

ON a beautiful sunday morning i rounded up the ladies and we headed to 'ZEST'. Which is located in the science centre in Regina. I was very excited to try this place out because I had heard from a friend that her husband was a chef and this is the only place he will eat at. we walked in and the place was all sunny and bright, which was great on a sunday. It was almost completely empty other than one woman and her child, who wasnt completely unruley. We sat down and had a peek at the menu. Everything looked really good and I decided to order the:

Raspberry Pancakes

Fluffy Raspberry pancakes adorned with a honeyed yogurt on top.
Served with a tossed greens salad.
$8.75

Sounds good right? Well i am sure it would have been if thats what I got. When it arrived there were 2 pancakes on my plate with some raspberry jam on the side, not raspberry pankcakes as i had imagined... fluffy pancakes filled with raspberries all red and warm. The honeyed yogurt was no where to be found. the pancakes were good, but they were just basic pancakes.. the side salad was nice, a good change from the basic deepfried accompaniment. It was a nice place to sit and have brunch with some girlfriends and chat. I liked the coffee, although my friend thought it was horrible.. but that just goes to show you that its all personal taste!

I would (and am) planning on returning to Zest for a taste of their supper menu. I will keep you updated.
